Gina Sambus Leake is a University of Virginia Women’s Lacrosse Alumni. She is currently a part of our recruiting coordinators and utilizes her broad network in the sport to help place our athletes in the best collegiate homes for their game.
Standout midfielder/defender at the University of Virginia — key contributor for the Cavaliers women’s lacrosse program as a four-year player in NCAA Division I competition.
Consistent offensive production — as a freshman in 1999, she scored 18 goals and added multiple points, ranking among top first-year scoring leaders in school history.
USA National Developmental Team selection (2001) — earned a spot on the USA Lacrosse developmental squad, joining other elite collegiate players.
All-Regional honors (2002) — named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Regional First Team while leading the ACC in ground balls and caused turnovers.
Ground ball and caused turnover leader — finished among the Cavaliers’ all-time leaders in caused turnovers and ground balls, showcasing her tenacity, hustle, and two-way impact.
